Points of Pride
  • In 2007, Cass City High School was 100% compliant to the State of Michigan guidelines for Individualized Education Plans.
  • Cass City High School met the AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress): *Met Michigan state standards by obtaining a B grade.
  • Cass City Greenhouse was purchased to assist Special Education students with responsibility.
    90% of special education students successfully complete the Merit/ACT exam.
  • The majority of our students go on to either successful employment or to post secondary training.

    a wide range of academic, personal, and post secondary goals."

 

All Special Education Teachers are certified and Highly Qualified in their subject areas and have been in education for a combined 31 years of experience.

Our classes have a small average (1 teacher for every 8 students) of students in the Special Education classrooms. This gives our students more one on one help.

Cass City schools use  Career Cruising to identify students career pathways.
Team building and personal challenge at the Fowler Center for 10th graders.

Students have the opportunity to attend the PREP for post secondary studies and STARS for daily living skills.

  • Computer based instruction with the teacher used as a facilitator.

  • Individualized instruction based on students ability levels.

  • Award-winning, standards-aligned content 

  • Individualized learning and differentiated instruction.

The SKYWARD program allows parent access to your students:

  • Grades

  • Attendance Record  

  • Discipline Records

  • Lunch Money, and lunch purchases

 

What do our special education students do after high school?
Students have the opportunity to attend post secondary institutions such as Tuscola Technology Center for certificate completion.

Cass City High School works closely with the State of Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth.
If your student qualifies they will meet a rehabilitation counselor who can help students with funding, supplies and anything else a student with disability may need for post secondary training after high school.

We have had students attend the following institutions after high school:

Western Michigan University
Mott Community College
Davenport College
