Cass City Athletic Booster Club Scholarship

Awarded to one male and one female senior athlete graduating from Cass City High and planning to further their education after graduation.  The student must have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better and be an athlete who has participated in any varsity sport for two consecutive years or more.  A letter of recommendation must be submitted from a coach, and an essay is required regarding what involvement in athletics has meant to the athlete’s education. Cass City Rotary Club Scholarship

Cass City High School senior will be presented with a scholarship, based upon academic performance, financial need, and extracurricular/community involvement.

Cass City High School Student Council Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who has actively participated in a leadership manner in the Student Council for a minimum of two years.  A $200 nonrenewable scholarship is available. Two short (100 words or less) essays are required, explain why you want this scholarship and how you have benefited by being a member of the student council.

Cass City PTO

Focus for this scholarship is volunteering.  Students need to be active in volunteer hours in school. Not based on GPA.  One letter of recommendation and an essay min. 250 to 500 words:  "What have you learned from your volunteer experience with the school and what does it mean to you. "  The quantity of funds will determine on funds available/possibly up to four.

Cass City Firefighters Scholarship

Include a 500-word essay explaining how your community service has benefited Cass City and how it has affected you as a person. Document your volunteered service hours (must be at least 20 hrs)

Cass City Lions Club Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors based on academic performance, community service, school involvement, and leadership.

Cass City Gavel Club/Chris Peters Service Scholarship

Awarded to two high school seniors who have performed outstanding service in the community during their high school years, and who are planning to further their education after graduation.  A minimum of 100 hours of documented community service is required.

Alison Emmert Memorial Scholarship (not available 23-24 school yr)

Awarded to a graduating senior who has maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and has participated in high school sports or extra-curricular activities. Include essay: How you would contribute to making your community a better place? How did you demonstrate some of the following qualities in your high school years that Alison demonstrated:  determination, service, friendliness, studious, caring fairness, honesty and integrity?  Include letter of recommendation. Anna Marjorie MacRae Scholarship

Awarded to a graduate of Cass City High School who plans to pursue a career in the nursing profession or a related medical field.  The candidate shall be selected based upon character, intelligence, scholastic record, and the desire and aptitude to pursue his/her chosen field.  An essay must be submitted describing educational goals, in addition to two letters of recommendation.  This scholarship requires a special application which can be found by going to https://learnmore.scholarsapply.org/macrae/.

 

Barb & Robert Tuckey Scholarship

Awarded to senior planning on attending MSU or Central – complete local scholarship app & include letter of admittance

 

Coller Scholarship

The student must be a graduate of a high school in either Sanilac or Tuscola Counties, of good moral character, a citizen of the United States, and will be enrolled in a private or public college, university or trade school as a full time student.  Financial need a main component of this scholarship, as well as academic achievement.  The application process is lengthy (7 pages) and requires 2 references, app can be found in guidance – usually at a later date in April. 

This scholarship can be renewed.

 

Cass City VFW Post 3644 Scholarship

Available to a senior who will graduate from Cass City Schools and is a son/daughter, grandson, granddaughter or great grandson, granddaughter, of a father, mother, grandfather, grandmother, or great grandfather or great grandmother, of a Military Veteran.  The student will complete the local scholarship application, showing community service on your included resume.  Two letters of recommendation are required: one from school staff and another from community. 

Also, must include legal proof of veteran’s status, (Ex: DD214).   If not available, you may communicate with Mrs. Dede for help. 

 

Cory Merz Endowment Fund Scholarship

Awarded to a Cass City High School graduating senior planning to further his/her education.  The individual must show a true desire to succeed in a chosen field, submit a letter of recommendation, and write a 500 word essay on why he/she should be considered for this scholarship

This scholarship is not based on grade point average.

Dr. Bruce J. Dunn Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a senior attending a school within the district boundaries of the Tuscola Intermediate School District, planning to attend an accredited college with at least a 2.5 GPA.  This scholarship has its own application form online at http://www.tuscolaisd.org/career_tech/scholarship_information  Also requires two letters of recommendation. 

 

Greater Thumb Area Fraternal Order of Police(N/A 23-24)

Tuscola County residents, seniors who plan a career in Law Enforcement, financial need, include a letter of applicant’s educational intent, extracurricular activities, associations, and hobbies.

Leone Lee Shaw Foreign Language Scholarship

Awarded to a graduating Cass City High School senior planning to attend the University of Michigan, who has been enrolled in foreign language courses and who has demonstrated the highest standards of honor and personal ethics, academic achievement, been involved in extra-curricular activities, and has financial need.  A $500 scholarship is available.

Marshall Scholarship

Awarded to a graduating Cass City High School senior planning to attend Michigan State University and pursuing a degree in the Math or Science field. Approximately $2000, this scholarship will be awarded by MSU based on academic performance, test scores, and leadership (Stacy Mills, admissions @ MSU will notify us once you have applied & been accepted to MSU & if you have been awarded scholarship)

 

Mt. Moriah Lodge Scholarship

Two letters of recommendation from HS personnel, two letters of rec from others, official transcript, & applicant’s signed statement of professional plans & goals.  Application found in guidance.   Check deadline date on app !

 

Paul Smarks & Female Athlete Award

Complete the student information sheet which is available in guidance which indicate years of participation along with any special honors/awards received.  Include a resume.

 

Thumb Bank Scholarship

Include an essay on your future plans (either Ag or Business) and why you feel you are deserving of this scholarship, along with how you would use the scholarship money.  Include one letter of recommendation and what college you plan on attending. Must have plan of study in

The Rawson Foundation Scholarship

Cass City High School graduate planning to pursue a baccalaureate degree at Central Michigan University or Saginaw Valley State University. The student must have maintained a 3.00 or higher cumulative grade point average.  The $7000 scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $875.00/semester for a period of four years (summer sessions excluded).  Describe why you are the most deserving individual to receive the scholarship, including any personal, family or financial circumstances that you feel should be considered.  Also include a letter of recommendation with your application. Tuscola County Sheriff’s Mounted Division Scholarship(N/A-23-24)

Applicant must be planning a career in law enforcement, equestrian studies or veterinary medicine. Academic average should be no lower than a “C”.  Include copy of transcript, a resume of extra activities, associations & hobbies, along with two letters of recommendations. Application found in guidance.

 

Wallace and Helen Zinnecker Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a graduating Cass City High School senior pursuing a career in Christian service or business. Complete the local scholarship application

 

Weippert-Churchill Scholarship

This scholarship is a $500 award to be given to a female graduate.

Parker J. Haire MSU Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to one graduating high school senior from Cass City Community Schools, Caro Community Schools, Unionville-Sebewaing Area Schools, Bad Axe Community Schools, Harbor Beach Community Schools, or Ubly Community Schools. 

Focus of this scholarship will be balancing academics, school sponsored extracurricular activities, and personal life, as well as being recognized as a hardworking and respectful young adult, who encourages others to smile and enjoy every day, as Parker exemplified all of these qualities.  The $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to a student who is admitted and enrolled to attend Michigan State University. Extra weight will be given to students planning on a mathematics/natural sciences major. Student applicants should have a 3.5 or better cumulative grade in their high school academic career, be a National Honor Society member for at least one year, and be able to demonstrate multiple seasons of active involvement in student activities in their school.  Include two letters of recommendation from high school teacher, counselor/academic advisor and/or athletic/team/organization coach.   

The applicant should include an essay (2-3 pages, typed and double-spaced) describing aspects of how he/she has been shaped into the person they are now, what their goals and aspirations are, and how they have demonstrated some of the qualities that Parker exhibited.  Include intended college major.  Proof of enrollment must be provided; scholarship money will be sent directly to Michigan State University; the student recipient is responsible to provide their student ID number and a copy of their class schedule, prior to the scholarship being sent to Michigan State University.  Applicants must also submit additional resume/local scholarship application form.

TCCF Robert & Marjorie Zander Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to seniors graduating from Cass city who plan to pursue a post-secondary education with excellent citizenship standards, list community service and work experience.  Application found online or in guidance.

 

TCCF Donald D & Sara J. Dost Scholarship

Awarded to s senior who will be attending MSU and pursuing a degree from the College of Ag.  Include transcript, letters of rec., and an essay. Application found online or in guidance.

 

TCCF Fullmer Family Scholarship

Awarded to a senior who plans on attending MSU and pursuing a degree from the college of Ag.  Include transcript, letters of rec., and an essay.  Application found online or in guidance.

 

TCCF Houghtaling Family Scholarship

Awarded to a senior who is pursuing a career in Agriculture, including its many aspects.  Include transcript, letters of rec., and an essay.  Application found online or in guidance.

 

TCCF Kenna Lynne Peet Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to one senior who has attended the Tuscola Tech Center’s Early Childhood Professions program & plans to enter a career within the field of Special Education.  Include transcript, letters of rec., and an essay.  Application found online or in guidance.

 

TCCF Olaf a. Goodell Scholarship

Awarded to a senior who plans to enter a career within a medical field. Include transcript, letters of rec., and an essay.  Application found online or in guidance.

 

TCCF Ralph & Marceline Bublitz Scholarship

Awarded to a senior who plans to enter a career as a Registered Nurse.  Include transcript, letters of rec., and an essay.  Application found online or in guidance.

 

TCCF Tuscola County Republican Party Scholarship(N/A-23-24)

Awarded to a senior based upon the completion of the appropriate scholarship app and completion of essay.  If you are recipient of scholarship you must verify enrollment to the TCCF before receiving $.  Application found online or in guidance.

 

TCCF Patricia Krol Memorial Scholarship

Offered through the TCCF one $1,000 scholarship available to be awarded to a female senior student graduating from CC who has college ability/financial need and is pursuing a college degree.  Special consideration will be given to applicants majoring in the field of business.
